The diary of cooking trip in Bangkok- 2nd Sep'14

We are back!!! Amazing hilarious eat cook shop Bangkok trip!! I almost felt that we were there just to boost Thailand's economy, if only you witness how we girls had three salesgirls and a guy running around for us, getting right sizes for our clothes, passing baton or rather clothing from one store to another just to get the perfect fit for us! Those scenes you saw in "pretty woman" movie, oh yeah! An eye opening for me too, how crazy this shopping marathon can last till the very last few minutes before we dashed our life to the airport. A feeling like I will never get to shop anymore in my entire life if I don't or I never shop in my pathetic life before. The mission of this trip was somehow distorted, the supposed to be" cooking trip became more like" let's boost up Thai economy shopping spree"!!! Lol! So glad I was there for only three days! Haha! My pocket got burnt for a big time and a long time, I'm not going to shop for the entire year I hope! The diary of the amazing Thailand cooking trip began....

Day 1
Feeling cranky tired dressed ready to go.

I woke up, dragged myself to airport grabbed a hazelnut latte on the way, standby for business class, hallelujah I managed to get a seat, threw myself onto the seat wrap myself around duvet n slept till landed in Bangkok where two sistas Angi and Shirley were supposedly holding a banner and flower awaiting for my arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport. To my disappointment, only two happy hopping bunnies waving their paws at me. No banner or flower!! Oh well!! Haha!! Before the shopping marathon kicked in, it was extremely important to fill our tummy so we could have full energy to run that marathon. Got into a Thai restaurant, ordered local delicacies with young coconuts drink and desserts.

After a brief lunch, we headed to Siam paragon, mesmerised by racks and racks of colorful stylish clothing designed by their local designers. Prices range from 40 to 100sgd with a fabulous quality you are unlikely to find anywhere else in the world. Speaking from experience, being around the world hunting down what's the best price n value for everything. Trust me I know what I'm getting, the cut and quality. This is one of the dresses I bought.

So we bought enough to call it a day and before dressed up for a nice Italian restaurant recommended by Dr minion( our favourite dermatologist &❤️), Zanotti at Saladaeng road.

Portions were huge, price was good & service was excellent. Their chef is truly an Italian as he popped out a few times for some fresh air from the stuffy kitchen I guess or just to peep at pretty girls! Uhmm. Our gluttonous ended us packing back a box of pizza ordered n untouched.
Last but not least we went for a foot reflexology massage right beside our Novotel Siam hotel. Thai massage is what describe a "heavenly touch" or " better than sex" ultimate indulgence!
Sorry guys!! Not trying to put you down!.

Day 2- big day

Yes, second day was our eventful Thai cooking class! A wagon picked us up from hotel drove about an hour to the school where we were welcomed by fresh scent of herbs garden beautiful Thai cum Bali style resort with my dream open-style kitchens. There were a good mix of foreigners from States, Aussie, Scotland and Singapore. We blended in well, chatting, exchanging cooking tip and taking  photos together. There we were taught four dishes mainly red rugby dessert, beef salad, pad Thai seafood noodles and cashew nuts chicken. Recipes will be posted as soon as I find time to do so. It's funny we cook like an expert in class leaving those westerners looking like amateurs trying hard to catch up with us. Hahaha! Oops!
After half day cooking, we went to central for groceries shopping to buy all the herbs n spices used in the class.
Durians bigger than our head!! Lol!!

Well, "someone" bought more clothing on her way to supermarket, just cuz she passed by ladies wear department. She said in order to stop her from buying more clothing we have to avoid walking anywhere near clothing department! It's like a magnetic effect on her, if you have seen that movie " confessions of a shopaholic" you will know what I mean! Scary jie! After shopping, we went back to hotel when Shirley and I decided to go for a full body massage whereas Angi decided to do her nails. We met up in the room and dressed up again for a fascinating dinner n drink at L'appart 32 Sofitel Sukhumvit. We were given a free bottle of wine complimentary of the assistant manager of F&B, Rachan, my friend's hubby. Chatted the nite away and were invited by Rachan to go Silom 11 where streets of pubs and bars for more happenings but we turned down the offer as we need to wake up early for the last spree before our departure.

Day 3

Woke up for gym workout to burn out excess calories from those oily food stuffed in my body. Those girls are obviously not giving up shopping till flight do us apart. Me n Shirley were taking the earlier flight back while Angi remained there to wait for her joining hubby n son in Bangkok. Again we went for brunch n snack n snack n shopping n shopping .... Nothing else than eat and shop....

Fatty pork lard#delizious#yummy

Walking on we saw A&W fastfood, it's as good as seeing a dinosaur on the street cuz you can no longer find A&W in Singapore thus labelled as extinct. No time to waste! GIVE me my root-beer float and curly fries!!! Quick!!!

Finally, bade farewell kiss kiss hug hug Angi, Shirley and me hopped in a cab embarking on our trip back to hometown.
Shirley took Thai airways back to Singapore while I took Cathay back to Hongkong. When the security officer at the gate saw us chatting happily together yet different destination when he checked our tickets, he gave us a puzzled face. XXX... I teased him that "I don't know this lady (Shirley), she was just stalking me." Lol! You just got to see how Shirley's jaw dropped to the ground and pouted her lips!! Omg!! Her face was so serious!!! Lol!! Well at least the security guard got my joke! Those crew saw me on board, greeted me as usual, inflight manager came from nowhere and grabbed my phone to see the photos I was trying to put on blog! Geez!! I was taken back! She started bombarding me with questions who, where, what I did ...as usual they just want a piece of juicy story to gossip about!! Sigh! I was so tempted to say I was with my young part time lover and the rest you may like to use your own wild imaginations! Haha!! Well but of cuz I didn't!!!

Overall this trip was a success!! Did what we want to do and learnt what we need to! It's just a pity we left Esther out as she was busy with her family. Esther wink wink!! Next time we will kidnap you and drag you on a plane let you cry yourself to sleep, missing your big small babies but yes we are planning an assassin!! We promise we will not put you in a bathtub and pour acid over you but instead we pour champagne over you!! Ok?!! Kill you with a heavenly massage and feed you caviar instead of poison!! 😉That's how mean we sisters can be!! That's the end of the cooking trip diary or rather a great getaway escaping from routine life and family!! Here's our video clip!!!
