Pizza Bianca means white pizza in Italian, it's a pizza made up of slathering of cheese without any heavy sauce. If you tired of heavy tomato based sauce pizza, this is something refreshingly simple and light especially for vegan who can choose not to add any meat toppings. Since I'm not a vegan, Siara my daughter likes her pizza with prosciutto, we are going to make a prosciutto pizza with garlic pizza based. In order to make a nice pizza dough, it's vital to add yeast in lukewarm water and let it turns foamy.
HOW TO MAKE A PIZZA DOUGH
Ingredients:
- Start by mixing the yeast n sugar to lukewarm water.
- Set aside for 10min to foam it
- Ready once it turns foamy like this
- Next add yeast mixture to flour and blend well
- Fold the dough like how Siara did with her hands
6. Now you get a dough ball by squeezing n pinching sealing the bottom Coat each dough ball with olive oil
7. Cover with damp towel or what I did as shown and let the dough rise to double or at least an hour.
Ingredients for Pizza base n toppings
- 3 cloves of crushed minced garlic
- 2 tablespoon of extra Virgin olive oil
- A dash of sea salt or table salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of parsley or basil or Italian herbs
- Prosciutto or Parma ham
- Garden salad or any salad
- Get a bowl, add garlic with olive oil and a dash of salt
- Mix well and set aside
- Once dough is ready, knead it with a roller or stretch it with your palm
- Toss the pizza if you are confident
That's me tossing!! Haha!!
- Coat the base of pizza pan with olive oil before placing the tossed pizza dough.
- Next use your palm n pointer to create the side of the pizza like what Siara did.
- Brush a layer of garlic based oil as prepared earlier on to the pizza base
- Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on top
- Insert into an oven at 500F for 15-20mins
- Check regularly at interval after 10mins
Tadah, that's the vegan pizza!
As for us, add prosciutto on top and finished off with some garden salad!!
Voila!!! Enjoy this thin crispy crusted, deliziously baked pizza Bianca!!
PS:
Pls do not add any salt, trust me, the cheese and salt in the garlic olive oil mixture is salty enough especially with prosciutto.
